Conex Energy is a South Sudan-based company reportedly in the oil industry. Nazret Amara Awut Gebeyehu, grandchild of President Salva Kiir, was a 45% shareholder in Conex Energy as of November 26, 2013.[14] Adut Salva Kiir Mayardit, Kiir’s daughter, held a 40% share, and Nardos Gebeyehu, Kiir’s son-in-law, held a 10% share in Conex Energy until November 26, 2013.[14]

In a 2019 response to The Sentry’s report “The Taking of South Sudan,” the Office of the President said that Nazret Amara was a 45% shareholder in Conex Energy and that the company was active.[214]
