Kubernao Trust Limited is a company registered in New Zealand.[148] Its shareholders are Robert John Baker and Kenneth Ross Hetherington, the latter of whom is a director.[148] Baker previously owned the company with Farnoush Farsiar.[341]

The company is named in investigators’ reports as having featured in an interconnected network of shell companies that held accounts at Malta’s Pilatus Bank,[11] [665] which was shuttered in 2018 over systemic failures to comply with anti-money laundering regulations.[4] Kubernao Trust Limited featured in one of several transactions flagged as “potentially suspicious” by money laundering investigators.[341] According to the investigators’ report, the company, acting “as Trustee of the Arellano Lega Trust,” was used in a deal to purchase land in Moscow on behalf of Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva.[341]
