Plato Capital is a Dubai-based investment fund founded by Farnoush Farsiar-Aidi, a British-Iranian private banker.[209]

Plato Capital is associated with a company in Azerbaijan called Plato Capital and Co. Investment Company OJSC,[1033] which owns a 4.8% stake in the Baku Stock Market.[1032] The shareholders of this associated Azerbaijani company are Plato Capital International Holdings Limited, a British Virgin Island company that owns 99%, and Furies Bia Investments Limited, a UAE company that owns 1%.[1034] Farsiar is the director of the Azerbaijani company.[209] [1034]

Farsiar featured 5,000 times in Pilatus Bank files and was found to have acted as the protector of trusts set up for the benefit of a network of Azerbaijani political figures.[341] [11] She was married to Thamer Aidi, the business partner of Australian chartered accountant Robert John Baker.[11] Along with Baker, Farsiar appeared “to play a significant role” in managing the finances of Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva via Furies Bia Investments Limited.[11] [341] The pair signed payment instructions on behalf of Sahra FZCO, a holding company registered in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai that is beneficially owned by Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva.[11] [4] [5] Sahra FZCO’s contact email address is a Plato Capital email address,[6] [4] and Farsiar is one of its two managers, the other being Iranian businessman Behzad Ahadpour Khanghah, the managing director of MIRK General Trading LLC, the property manager and rent collector for Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva’s Dubai villas and hotels.[5] [108] [341]
