Strahan Holding & Finance Corp

Strahan Holding & Finance Corp is a company registered in the British Virgin Islands.[848] Between 2006 and 2017, Arzu Aliyeva was a director and shareholder.[478] [479] Strahan Holding & Finance held a Swiss bank account and was set up by Trident Trust,[521] a British Virgin Islands-headquartered financial services company.[729]

In 2006, the company acquired three apartments in The Knightsbridge, a luxury apartment building in West London opposite Hyde Park, worth 5.1 million GBP ($9.7 million).[521] Arzu Aliyeva, who was 19 at the time, became a company shareholder just prior to the purchase.[521]

The company’s “care of” address on property records was given as Raymond Saul & Co.,[654] [655] [656] a law firm registered in the UK and linked to several companies registered in the British Virgin Islands that acquired high-value properties in London on behalf of members of the Aliyev family and their business associates.[448]

In February 2023, the beneficial owners of Strahan Holding & Finance—declared on UK company records—included Hollyberry Trustee Limited, an Isle of Man trust company that owned more than 25%,[633] and Mir Pashayev,[633] an Azerbaijani with the same month and year of birth as Mir Jamal Pashayev,[730] a cousin of Azerbaijan’s first lady, Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.[595]

In response to The Sentry, Trident Trust said that it is “subject to stringent client confidentiality and data protection obligations. Each of Trident’s businesses is regulated in the jurisdiction in which it operates and is fully committed to compliance with all applicable regulations. Trident does not discuss with the media its clients, or whether any individual or entity is a client, but cooperates fully with any competent authority which requests information.”[1401]
