Triangle Investment and Development Limited is a UK registered company.[642] Gafar Gurbanov, a former Azerbaijani tax official,[521] has beneficially owned Triangle Investment and Development since March 2020; he currently holds more than 75% of the shares.[642]
In June 2014, Triangle completed the acquisition of Holborn Links, a commercial real estate asset of 42 buildings spanning 3.3 acres in Central London, on behalf of Perez International,[646] [281] [282] [283] [284] a company registered in the British Virgin Islands.[281] [282] [283] [284] The deal went ahead for 212.5 million GBP ($356.8 million) and was financed in part by a loan from Deutsche Bank of up to 127.5 million GBP ($214 million).[645] [281] [282] [283] [284] [972] Subsequent reports found that Perez International was owned by Ashraf Kamilov,[276] another former Azerbaijani tax official.[521]
Kamilov controlled Nedo Ventures Limited, another British Virgin Islands company.[275] In February 2009, Nedo Ventures acquired a commercial property in West London: 8 Cavendish Square.[539] [275] Between 2010 and 2016, the property served as Triangle Investment’s registered office.[521] [990] [991] [275]
