Gregory Vasili Dimitry Yalouris is the brother-in-law of the president of South Sudan, Salva Kiir.[197] Kiir named Vasili the deputy director-general of the General Intelligence Bureau of the National Security Service in 2021.[180] Vasili was sanctioned by the US government in December 2018 for facilitating conflict and the sale of weapons.[181] He was listed as a shareholder of 39 South Sudan-based companies.
